Stepping Up

You can’t love God unless you love people. And love is a verb, not an emotion, so you can’t love people without getting involved in their lives. When we care for others, we are working alongside the Savior. Until then, we’re freeloaders in His family. This series is intended to show how, from start to finish, the Bible is about God’s love for people. and to reframe our mentality from “sin avoidance” to taking responsibility for those around us.

Part 1: From the Word Go

The “royal law” is all through God’s Word. We see the Mosaic Law as arcane and bizarre, but it’s shot through with God’s heart for those who are hurting. Then the prophets of Israel came along, and reinforced this. Even the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is about God’s anger at a lack of compassion.
