Hello Habitat Friends,
The pictures shown above show the build sequence of our 2009-2010 home. This home was started in October, 2009 and is planned to be finished and dedicated this June. Our future owner, Maria, and her three children will then sign her 20-year mortgage and move into her new home. Maria has already completed her required home owner classes and 350 hours of “sweat equity” (some on building this home).
Note: This years project was a partnership between First Baptist Church Conroe and Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County. Volunteer partners supplied by Habitat on selected Saturdays were from Baker Hughes, Grace Crossing Church, Legado Resources, National Charity League, The Woodlands United Methodist Church, Bank One and Best Buy.
Future Work: Work on various re-hab or special projects will continue through the summer as needs are identified. Most of these projects will involve our “Wednesday Crew” of FBCC volunteers; however, a Saturday work day is a possibility. It is anticipated that we will join with First United Church Conroe this fall to build another new Habitat home.
